With a record of 76-4, Ignacio Capllonch is the greatest TKD fighter of all time. No, he wasn’t a super decorated Taekwondo athlete, nor is he the “olympic style (WTF)”.
However, he represents the ITF style and made everything that a Taekwondo fighter is known for work in the kickboxing ring. Ignacio is one of the most feared and technically brilliant fighters in kickboxing.
Yet not that many people know him! Time to give him the credit he deserves!
“I hate Taekwondo”
That’s what people who criticized my work for YEARS said. Funny enough, I actually love Taekwondo, it’s the first martial art that I deeply appreciated.
In the 90s and early 2000s, Taekwondo was very aesthetically pleasing and much more brutal. I always found the agility and speed of the kicks beautiful.
The spinning kicks were so aesthetically phenomenal. But, over time, I realized how useless it was without a proper foundation. That is why I featured Muay Thai and kickboxing defeating traditional arts so often.
Without addressing that, we IGNORE history.
There are so many great Taekwondo techniques that have worked throughout historic fights. However, they became less popular for a reason: karate and Taekwondo style fighters were often getting stretchered out of the ring due to Muay Thai style leg kicks.
This is why I featured Muay Thai and Kickboxing beating traditional arts so often. They serve as an important lesson that you must learn textbook Muay Thai and Kickboxing technique before moving forward with side kicks, axe kicks, jumping kicks, and spin kicks.
Without the fundamentals, the chances of any of these techniques working goes way down. Now that I have featured many historic lessons of textbook technique, I am featuring more of these great Taekwondo style techniques going forward.
Ignacio is one of the best examples of incorporating the fundamentals of kickboxing with the best of Taekwondo.

I am talking about the differences between the sports MMA and karate. Remember that a fight on the streets doesn’t have rules like in the UFC! They have great practitioners, masters, and grandmasters.
When delivering such a technique, try to keep it as clean as possible. When doing punches you should always keep your thumb wrapped around the outside of your hand. Hand techniques should be performed with maximum power and focus, whether it is a block, strike or a punch.
Street self defence includes moves which I know many people would consider dirty fighting techniques. But what really is a dirty move in a street fight where there’s a real threat of injury! Elbow strikes, strikes to soft tissue areas like the ears may all be considered fair when you are forced into a real fight. Certainly when you think about self defence for women I would argue dirty fighting tactics have a place. At the end of the day it’s all about surviving. Real world taekwondo 4 directional punch is another option for highly effective fighting techniques and is well worth looking into.
Taekwon-do [https://www.tkd.co.za/tsa/about] trains you in the art of co-ordination. It is because of these two factors, namely co-ordination and versatility, that it is easy to pick up another martial art once you have completed taekwondo over 50.
A yellow belt signifies the first ray of sunshine to fall on the student, giving them new power to continue progressing with this martial art. Students who have a yellow belt have taken a big step in knowledge and broadened there minds about this great style of fighting and defense.
Nobody knows about the exact origin of it, but probably it was originated from ancient Chinese martial arts. However it taekwondo imdb was spread in Japan later. It wasn’t very early when this form became very popular as the Brazilian style.
My goal is for you to have a number of strategies that will give you the tools to analyze and survive any sparring situation. This is an important point. It is virtually impossible to win every sparring match and I would be lying if I were to say I could teach you how to win each time you bow in. Don’t misunderstand me here. I’m very confident you will win more sparring matches than ever and that’s great. But, it’s more important to me that you are able to survive any match.
Make sure you practice your basic movements, stances and guards. We’re going to discuss blocking and evading in the next article, then kicking and striking techniques.
