Many humans are motivated by the thought of doing something they or others think they cannot do. They don’t want to do what they already know they can do.

I used to do olympic taekwondo, but I don’t remember much, and I don’t think it really helped me with my grappling. Karate means empty hand. I personally think MMA is more useful because I don’t know where you could use those karate moves in a fight because if you tried to punch, then somebody would quickly take you down. I think Karate is more like dancing and performing open forms then training for real combat. I still have respect for people that prefer this kind of sport but think it is much less practical than MMA.

Besides purchasing the right uniform for you, great care must also be taken in the way that you wear your dobok. The pants are put on with the label on the front inside. There is usually ties available for you to tighten your pants to a comfortable size. The top goes on much like a t-shirt, but with a little twist. There is an elastic that goes around your waist to a button under a taekwondo pattern flap to pull the back in tight. Make sure that the elastic is hidden by your top and not hanging down.

Another thing which we need to look through is our marketing strategies. Our marketing strategies might not be good enough to attract people towards taekwondo. One can clearly see that other sports get more media coverage than taekwondo. Rarely a person is able to watch taekwondo on a satellite channel. Other sports such as cricket and football get more media coverage and hence they are more popular. Less media coverage is one of the main reasons that people don’t have much knowledge about taekwondo and its training.

One night at my 8 year-old daughter’s school Halloween party, reality struck. A guy whom we all knew at the school a middle-aged foot and very muscular school custodian happened to have greeted my wife a little too enthusiastically by saying hello and also giving taekwondo chuck norris her an inappropriate hug which made her very uncomfortable.

Technique Relevant Conditioning – Your MMA Conditioning program should address strength and conditioning that is relevant ONLY to your MMA techniques. You are not training like a bodybuilder. They are all size, and no applicable strength. You are training to fight, which means every second of your training should be oriented toward your fight. Every muscle you train and condition should directly contribute to one or more of your MMA techniques. For example, if you want a stronger punch, there are many muscle groups to condition, including your shoulders, arms, core, and legs. You want to increase these muscle groups to get the most out of your techniques. In addition, you can’t over train these muscles because you do not want to hinder your technique training.
